Mobile game developer Macovill announced that they have signed an IP licensing agreement with Arc System Works to develop a new Blazblue mobile game. The upcoming mobile game will reportedly use all characters from the main Blazblue titles. Additionally, it will reinterpret the world of Blazblue on PC and mobile platforms. Macovill is the first Korean company to develop a Blazblue title.
CEO of Macovill, Lee Joo-hyun, stated, “This agreement will serve as the foundation for us to enter the global market. We want to develop high-quality games based on the globally popular BlazBlue IP and provide fun to gamers around the world.”. Arc System Works is happy about this cooperation with Macovill, as they have “high expectations for Macovill’s excellent development capabilities and passion”. Arc System Works went on further to say, “We are confident that with the cooperation between the two companies, we will be able to release a new game that is full of new appeal for BlazBlue.”
Macovill is a mobile game developer who has already developed 2D games such as Heroes vs. Evil: Gacha Defense and Goblin Quest: Idle Adventure. To get a peek at their other games, check out their website here.
This isn’t the first alliance Arc System Works currently has, as the company has entered a capital alliance with AQURIA, the developer of CRYMACHINA, The Caligula Effect, and Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris. This alliance was formed as the industry demands higher quality and volume for global releases as development scale expands. Both companies will likely team up to create new games, including RPGs.
The upcoming Macovill Blazblue mobile game currently has no release date but will be available on PC and mobile platforms. Stay tuned for more information here at Final Weapon.
