During the game’s EVO 2024 panel, Arc System Works released a new trailer for Eighting-developed fighting game Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact, revealing that Meruem will be a playable character in the main roster. In addition, the opening movie for Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact was released.

Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact will be a 2D fighting game instead of a 3D arena fighter. On Bushiroad’s website, the company revealed that the genre of the game is “2D fighting”. Many fans speculated the game was a 3D arena fighter because of the setup of the teaser trailer. Eighting, the developers of DNF Duel and Marvel vs Capcom 3, will be developing this game. Their other titles include the series of Naruto: Clash of Ninja, Bleach: Heat the Soul, and Tatsunoko vs Capcom.
