Just under two weeks after its release, Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- sits only below Final Fantasy VII Rebirth as the second highest-rated game of 2024 on OpenCritic. While it seemed impossible for the longest time, Tsukihime is at last beginning to receive major recognition in the West with the game now officially offering English support.
Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- originally released in Japan on August 26, 2021. At the time, no Type-Moon visual novel had ever made its way over to the West in English, so many believed we’d never see the title officially released in the United States. That belief changed when Type-Moon released the HD version of Witch on the Holy Night in English in December 2022, marking the first visual novel of the company’s to be officially translated.
The English release of Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- was revealed at Anime Expo 2023, with a Summer 2024 release date. The game was released on June 27 across Switch and PS4. In case you missed it, be sure to check out our 4.5/5 review of the game, where we stated, “Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- is a beautiful and surreal experience with gorgeous illustrations, an incredible narrative, and presentation that sits atop the visual novel market”.
Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- is available now for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Type-Moon and Aniplex will also release Fate/stay night Remastered later this year for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
