During the Capcom NEXT Summer 2024 showcase, Capcom’s Koshi Nakanishi confirmed that he’s the director for a new Resident Evil game. Besides the new game, Nakanishi’s Resident Evil track record includes design and directory duties for Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, Resident Evil: Revelations, and Resident Evil 7 biohazard.
“We’re making a new Resident Evil,” said Nakanishi during the Capcom NEXT showcase. “It was really difficult to figure out what to do after [Resident Evil 7 biohazard]. But I found it, and to be honest, it feels substantial. I can’t share any details just yet, but I hope you’re excited for the day I can.”
The showcase also highlight the Mac and iOS versions of Resident Evil 7 biohazard. The game will be available on July 2 for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and every iPad and Mac device with the M1 chip or later.
Players may try out a sample of the game with a free download before accessing the full paid game. The main game is bundled with the Not A Hero story DLC starring Chris Redfield. What’s more, the game supports Universal Purchase and cross-progression, so Apple users may continue their game across their iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices.
Powered by RE ENGINE, Resident Evil 7 biohazard runs natively on Apple devices and features newly optimized controls for iPhone and iPad. These control features include an Auto Fire option and fully touch-compatible menus. The Gold Edition upgrade will also be available featuring optional DLC, such as extra story content and additional modes.
