    Capcom Acquires CG Production Company Minimum Studios

    They previously worked on Resident Evil Village, Dragon's Dogma 2, and more.

    Capcom has announced that they have acquired the 3D CG production company Minimum Studios. The company previously worked on Dragon’s Dogma 2Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil 4.

    Capcom has been on a roll for the past few years. They have released hits such as Street Fighter 6, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and more. They’ve also announced highly anticipated games that will release in the coming months and years, including Monster Hunter Wilds, Marvel vs. Capcom: Fighting Collection, and Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

    In a new press release, Capcom has confirmed that they have acquired two-thirds of the total shares for Minimum Studios. They are a 3D CG production company based in Taiwan that has worked with Capcom on games like Dragon’s Dogma 2, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil 4. In the official press release, Capcom states more details about the acquisition:

    Based in Taiwan, Minimum Studios’ strength lies in animation production for consumer home video game development, and the studio has carried out work on major Capcom titles in the past. Capcom decided to make the studio its subsidiary company to sustainably bolster its developmental and technological capabilities, aiming to achieve its long-term management goal of 100 million units in annual sales.

    Going forward, Capcom will continue to explore the acquisition of necessary technological capabilities in order to enhance its game development organization.

    Capcom’s next game, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection will release at some point later this year. Additionally, at 3 PM PDT, they will hold a short conference that will reveal more details about Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and the upcoming iOS/iPad/Mac port of Resident Evil 7 biohazard.
