    Once Upon a Witch’s Death Anime Adaptation Releasing in 2025

    Kadokawa has revealed that an anime adaptation of the Once Upon a Witch’s Death novel will premiere in 2025. They also released the first teaser video for the upcoming series.

    Saka initially wrote the Once Upon a Witch’s Death novel in 2019. The series came to an end in 2022, though a manga and light novel adaptation are still ongoing to this day. Alongside announcing the anime, Kadokawa also confirmed two cast members for the series.

    Kadokawa has officially confirmed that the Once Upon a Witch’s Death novel will receive an anime adaptation in 2025. They also revealed the first two cast members for the series. Yoshino Aoyama will play the role of Meg Raspberry and Yoshiko Sakakibara will play Faust. Check out the first teaser video for the anime below:

    On Meg’s seventeenth birthday, she learns that she only has one year left to live. Her mentor—the Eternal Witch, Faust—explains that she is cursed and the only way to save herself is to grow a seed of life using one thousand tears of joy. Of course, such tears aren’t easy to come by.

    As Meg begins her quest, she finds herself drawn into the lives of her friends and neighbors in ways she never imagined. By sharing their burdens and using her magic to comfort them, she learns how precious those moments of connection can be even in the face of death.

    The Once Upon a Witch’s Death anime adaptation will premiere in 2025.
