Limited Run Games and Whoopee Camp announced that Tomba! 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. In Tomba! 2, Tomba is back to take on new challenges and take on feral pigs.
Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return released on October 28, 1999 for PlayStation in Japan. The game launched on January 18, 2000 in North America, followed by June 16, 2000 in Europe. Nearly 25 years later, Tomba! 2 makes its return on modern platforms for the first time, and Limited Run Games will likely release the game physically.
Here’s an overview of the game, alongside the announcement trailer, via Limited Run Games:
Tomba! turned PlayStation-era platforming on its ear. Tomba! 2 refined that brilliant design, adding even more freedom of movement, incorporating more inspiring new quests, and throwing in a flying squirrel suit for good measure. In Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return, you’ll guide a taller, more chiseled Tomba through a gauntlet of grueling challenges in a quest to save his sweetheart from the clutches of vile feral pigs.
Tomba! originally released on December 25, 1997 for the original PlayStation console in Japan. The classic PlayStation title would launch on July 16, 1998 in North America and August 28, 1998 in Europe. A re-release titled Tomba! Special Edition will release on August 1 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Lastly, the game will launch at a later date for PlayStation 4.
