Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura shared a message regarding the launch of the Kingdom Hearts series on Steam. Tetsuya Nomura notes that the release is perfect for people looking to prepare for the next game, Kingdom Hearts IV.
“The Kingdom Hearts series has been released on Steam,” Nomura said via the Kingdom Hearts Twitter account. “If you haven’t played the series or have only played some of the titles, please take this opportunity to wield the Keyblade. It is also perfect for existing Keyblade-wielders to get reacquainted in preparation for the next title. We’re working hard in all directions.”
Moreover, singer-songwriter Hikaru Utada shared her thoughts on the new version of Simple and Clean, the theme song for the original Kingdom Hearts game.
“For the daunting challenge of re-recording one of my most loved songs I enlisted the help of my friend and collaborator A. G. Cook,” Utada said. “The new versions of “Simple and Clean”/”Hikari” are still the songs I wrote 22 years ago, but they come from a different place, a different viewpoint. They’re reflective, wiser, and kinder.”
Utada continued, “There are no such thing as wins or losses in life, just what we take away from our experiences. I’m in awe of all the lives that Kingdom Hearts has touched and enriched, and looking forward to more to come.”
The Kingdom Hearts series released on June 13, bringing the mainline series to the platform for the first time. The release includes Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3 + ReMind, with the sole exception being Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory.
