Ubisoft has revealed a new trailer for the long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake. The game will now release in 2026. Little is known about the upcoming game, and whether it’ll still release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Ubisoft will likely reveal more details about the upcoming game in the coming months and years. Check out the new trailer below:

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake was planned to be released on January 21, 2021, but Ubisoft delayed the title to later in the year. However, a subsequent delay pushed the game indefinitely with no new release date in sight. The game was not shown at Ubisoft Forward during E3 2021, sowing more doubt for Prince of Persia fans.

Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai were the original developers of the remake, before development shifted to Ubisoft Montréal in 2022. Ubisoft Montréal “regrouped on the scope of the game to deliver you the best experience for this remake of an all-time classic.”

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the first mainline entry in the series in over fifteen years. The game returns the series to its 2D roots, taking the form of a Metroidvania. A free update recently added a Boss Attack mode for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown players to enjoy.

Lastly, Ubisoft and Evil Empire’s The Rogue Prince of Persia is out now in Steam Early Access as well. Evil Empire brings their Dead Cells and roguelike expertise in a unique new entry in the series.
