Skate Reveals New Trailer, Gives Update on Playtesting
EA has revealed a new trailer for Skate. A majority of the trailer serves as a commercial from M-Corp, a company from within the game’s universe. They have decided they are leaving the game’s city, titled San Vansterdam. Check out the new trailer below:
Additionally, according to the game’s website, console playtesting will go live in Fall 2024. The website describes playtesting as follows: “Insiders have the opportunity to playtest early versions of the game and provide feedback throughout development.” Additionally, more and more players will be added to the playtest. At the time of writing, a release date is unknown. Players can, however, register now to join the playtest.
There’s also a website for M-Corp themselves, where they state their mission statement (that doubles as EA’s update on Skate’s development):
Through sound strategic investments into the city and surrounding environs for decades to come, San Vansterdam will continue its meteoric rise as a haven for financial prosperity.
We’ve already revolutionized urban planning, standardizing an approach everyone must can get behind. By limiting excessive budgetary waste on parades, parks, public restrooms and fancy pour-over coffee places, we’ve effectively streamlined our daily processes. Soon, we’ll standardize and monetize creative expression as well, turning your personal outlets into a predictable cash flow directly back to the city and, eventually, YOU!
Our vision for shared value is strong. Trust us.
Lastly, Skate will open up playtesting for console players in Fall 2024.
