At today’s Summer Game Fest, it was revealed that Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will be launching next month on July 19. A new trailer for the upcoming action strategy game is available to view below, featuring tons of action-packed gameplay.
Kunitsu-Gami will combine action and strategy gameplay in a Japanese-inspired fantasy setting. The protagonist of the game is Soh, the guardian of Maiden Yoshiro. The goal is to guide Yoshiro to purify villages by ridding Torii gates of “the defilement”. Players will control Soh and command villagers to win battles against monstrous foes.
Previously, it was known that the game would come out sometime this year, but the exact release date hasn’t been known until now. It is looking to be one of Capcom’s most experimental titles in recent years. Players will now be able to find out how this experiment goes very soon.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Release Date Trailer
The trailer features a montage of gameplay clips. Soh and some villagers can be seen facing off against several monsters. While action seems to be the main focus of the trailer, a few of the game’s strategic elements are on display as well.
The game features a day and night cycle that will directly affect gameplay. During the day, players can explore the village and rescue villagers from the defilement. At nighttime, the monsters known as the “Seethe” will attack. Soh will need to prepare well during the day to face the Seethe at night. More official info can be found on the game’s website.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Additionally, the game will be available to play for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. This is the second Capcom game to release this year, with Dragon’s Dogma 2 being the first, which has sold over 3 million copies.
Capcom fans who are anticipating this release will be able to get their hands on the title very soon. Be sure to keep an eye on Final Weapon for more updates on Kunitsu-Gami!
