    Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom Coming to Select Theaters

    Crunchyroll announced the Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom anime movie is coming to select theaters in North America and other regions around the world. 

    An Overlord live special in 2021 confirmed that a third movie was decided. In July 2022, the fourth season of Overlord began in July 2022 and ran for a single cour with 13 episodes. The recent Overlord Sei Ōkoku-hen live special confirmed that Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom will premiere in 2024, and a stunning key visual was revealed to reconfirm the release window.

    Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom Will Air in Select Theaters Worldwide

    Crunchyroll will distribute Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom in North American theaters and select regions, including Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and Latin America. A release date has not been announced yet, however.

    Madhouse will animate the Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom anime movie with Naoyuki Itou at the helm. Satoshi Hino, Yumi Hara, and Masayuki Katou will reprise their roles as Ains, Albedo, and Demiurge. Satoshi Tasaki as character designer and chief animation director, and Shuji Katayama is the composer. Kadokawa Animation will distribute the film in theaters across Japan. 

    The first season of the Overlord anime series premiered in July 2015, with Funimation streaming the series. Season 2 premiered roughly two and a half years later in January 2018, and the third season would follow just a few months later in July 2018. The fourth season of Overlord came in July 2022. All four seasons received an English dub. 

    Kugane Maruyama started the Overlord light novel series in 2010, and Kadokawa would publish the series in print two years later with its Enterbrain imprint. Yen Press publishes the novel series and the manga adaptation by Hugin Miyama and Satoshi Ōshio in North America.

    All four seasons of Overlord and the previous two Overlord movies are available to stream now on Crunchyroll. Here’s an overview of the anime from the streaming service:
