Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – How to Pressure Enemies

Pressure them all to be successful.

Pressure is a key mechanic to success in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. You’ll notice this feature right under each enemy’s health bar, where the Stagger Meter is located. This meter, once filled, will stagger enemies and allow the party to deal massive amounts of damage to a helpless enemy.

To get to a Staggered state is tricky, though. It’s all about building Pressure, which we’ve outlined for you below.

How to Pressure Enemies in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

To pressure enemies, you’ll need to exploit each enemy’s weakness. In order to do this, you will need to have the Assess Materia handy and equipped on at least one party member.

When in combat, assess the enemy that you’re up against. On the right side of the screen, you’ll see the known enemy weaknesses. On the left, a detailed summary of the enemy and how you can pressure it. You need to use this information to pressure the enemy, as otherwise you’ll have no idea how to get them into that state.

If you pressure an enemy, you’ll know, as the text “Pressured” will appear right above the Stagger Meter. Building this to completion will ultimately Stagger an enemy, which is where the bulk of your damage will be inflicted.
