Tokyo Indie Games Summit 2024 just wrapped up as one of the biggest digital and in-person Japanese events of the year, with a deep dive into several new indie titles coming soon. One of these games is Touhou Genso Wanderer -FORESIGHT-, a new roguelike turn-based RPG from Phoenixx and AQUASTYLE.
The two-day indie gaming event was held in Kichijoji, Tokyo from March 2 to March 3. Roughly 4500 visitors tried out some of 2024’s most anticipated indie games, marking a 45% increase in overall attendance compared to Tokyo Indie Games Summit 2023. What’s more, a total of 126 titles were featured at Tokyo Indie Games Summit 2024.
Tokyo Indie Games Summit 2024 Reveals Brand-New Games
Firstly, Touhou Genso Wanderer -FORESIGHT- will come to PC via Steam on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Later this year, SKY THE SCRAPER will make its debut as a new window-cleaning roguelike action game by Ryo Kobuchi, HYPER REAL, and Toydium for PC via Steam. Additionally, package delivery game Mika and the Witch’s Mountain by Chibig and Nukefist is coming to PC via Steam.
Panel discussions during Tokyo Indie Games Summit featured notable game creators, inclduing Touhou Project creator Jun’ya “ZUN” Ōta and Japanese game developer/comedian Noda Crystal. Sony Interactive Entertainment, SACRA MUSIC, and Phoenixx collaborated to show a “glimpse at the future of indie game music.” In addition, Digital Hearts highlighted the “next generation of AI localization” at the event.
