Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the highly anticipated sequel to 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake. Cloud and the party are on the hunt for Sephiroth after the thrilling events in Midgar. With such a huge journey ahead of them, you might be wondering how long it will take to beat FFVII Rebirth.

We’ve got you covered with a quick guide that goes over different playtime options. Depending on the amount of side content you complete, your first playthrough can range from 40 hours to well over 100.

How Long Is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?

The main story of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is approximately 40 hours long. Traversing through six massive regions, you’ll visit well over a dozen settlements and towns to explore. If you choose to just focus on the story and opt not to do any side content, you can clear the game in just under 40 hours.

However, there are over 60 hours worth of side content available in the game. For that reason, the story can take over 100 hours to complete if you fulfill all side content requirements. Additionally, the difficulty setting chosen for your playthrough can alter your playtime. Easy, Normal, and Dynamic are all available at launch, so pick whichever you believe is best for you. It really depends on how you choose to play the game! We recommend taking your time and playing at your leisure, as this is an incredible title you don’t want to rush through.

In case you missed it, Final Weapon got the opportunity to review FFVII Rebirth. We gave it a 5/5 in our review, stating, “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is one of the greatest RPGs – and video games – ever created.” You’ll find an endearing cast of characters, an expansive open world, and, of course, a thrilling story. We had sky-high expectations, and Rebirth managed to blow them away. Our reviewer took just over 54 hours to complete his first playthrough of the game, balancing a healthy amount of side quests with the main story. He now has over 120 hours and counting, aiming to obtain the coveted Platinum Trophy.
