As a new adaptation of the original light novel series, Spice and Wolf: merchant meets the wise wolf is being animated and produced at studio Passione and ENISHIYA. Takeo Takahashi returns as the chief director of the series alongside director Hijiri Sanpei. Additionally, Kevin Penkin will compose the music for the anime premiering in April.

The new key visual for Spice and Wolf: merchant meets the wise wolf depicts Holo in a red kimono to ring in the new year. Spice and Wolf: merchant meets the wise wolf premieres in April 2024 in Japan on TV Tokyo and other networks according to the official website. Moreover, Jun Fukuyama and Ami Koshimizu will reprise their roles as Kraft Lawrence and Holo. The anime will likely be simulcasted in the west via Crunchyroll.

The original light novel series is written by Isuna Hasekura and illustrated by Jū Ayakura, and 24 volumes have been released to date. ASCII Media Works publishes the series under its Dengeki Bunko imprint. Yen Press distributes the series in English.
