Square Enix announced Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince will receive a major update soon with bug fixes. This new update will also have performance and stability improvements.

Released on December 1, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince tells the story of Psaro, a young man afflicted with a curse by his father, the king of monsters. He’s unable to directly hurt monsters, but his father-figure Monty trains him to become a monster wrangler in order to circumvent the curse. The game’s first major update will ensure the performance is more stable on Nintendo Switch.

On Twitter, Square Enix’s official Dragon Quest account confirms a new update for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince will release soon. The update will bring bug fixes and performance/stability improvements.

Here’s an overview of the game, via the Nintendo eShop

Become the Master of Monsterkind!

Journey into a fantastical world on a quest for revenge in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince.

Psaro is cursed and is unable to harm anything with monster blood. Now, he must become a Monster Wrangler to create an army for battle.

The hunt for high-ranked monsters takes Psaro through the ever-changing seasons of Nadiria and its unique environments, with rivers of bubbling lava, mysterious ancient ruins, and soaring towers of cake. Along the way, Psaro meets the kind-hearted elf, Rose, who joins his adventure to seek out ever-stronger monsters.

The key to Psaro’s success lies with synthesis: the ability to combine two monsters and create a stronger offspring. Each new creation brings Psaro one step closer to his goal of becoming the Master of Monsterkind.

Lastly, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is now available for Nintendo Switch physically at retail and digitally worldwide. Digital purchases include the Head Start Set featuring, Stardust Earrings x1, Scholar’s Specs x1, and Bonus Ball x5. A free demo is available now with save data transfers into the full game.
