The official website for the upcoming anime, Pon no Michi, has announced that the series will premiere on January 5. Additionally, the website revealed a new character trailer for one of the series’ characters, Haneru Emi.
The series is focuses on a high school student named Nashiko Jippensha. The student, kicked out of her house, learns that the mahjong parlor that her father used to run is now vacant. She fixes the mahjong parlor and turns it into a place where she and her friends can have fun, cook, have tea, and sometimes play mahjong.

The website for the upcoming mahjong anime, Pon no Michi, reveals that the series will premiere on January 5. Additionally, they also released a new character trailer for the upcoming series. The trailer focuses on Haneru Emi, played by Hibiku Yamamura. The anime will air in the “Animeism” programming block on TBS, MBS, and BS-TBS according to Anime News Network.

IIS-P is the author of the original story. Tatsuma Minamikawa is directing and writing the Pon no Michi anime’s scripts at OLM. Negi Haruba will draft the original character designs, and Kenji Ōta is the animation designer. The anime’s composers are Yūko Takahashi, Takuma Sogi, hisakuni, Rico Ohashi, Kanji Eguchi, and Shari. The opening theme song “Ponpopopon” is sung by professional mahjong player and former Nogizaka46 idol Kana Nakada feat. Pon no Michi All Stars.
Pon no Michi will air on January 5. The anime’s staff will likely reveal more details about an English dub and distributor in the coming weeks.
