Square Enix has announced tonight that Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis will release on Steam on December 7, 2023. The Steam port was rated late last month, which led many to believe that it would be released before the end of the year.
Ever Crisis is a retelling of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Story chapters are released each month for one of the available titles like Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-, and Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier.
Final Fantasy Ever Crisis Launches for Steam Next Week
Ever Crisis was developed by Applibot, Inc. and published by Square Enix. In combat, you utilize different attacks that take time to recharge, similar to the original FFVII. The Steam version of the game will keep combat the same but allow the use of different control inputs.
Plenty of crossovers and events regularly occur within the game. Most recently, Ever Crisis had a collaboration with Final Fantasy IX. Outfits and different enemies were made available for players to unlock. A new event, The Holy Flame’s Gift, will begin starting tonight. If you haven’t played yet, December is a perfect time to jump into Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis.

Alongside Ever Crisis, the next installment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, is also close to release. The title is scheduled for February 29, 2024, exclusively for PlayStation 5 consoles. This remake allows for a new experience of FFVII for all fans, with Ever Crisis being a ‘true’ remake in the sense of keeping all story events from the 1997 original. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is set to launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. The title will be exclusive to the platform until May 29, 2024. A Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Collector’s Edition are available to pre-order now.
