SEGA revealed several year-end updates for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis coming in December 2023, including the “Super Genesis Festival” 2.5 anniversary campaign and new content. Players can also look forward to a collaboration event with The Seven Deadly Sins in 2024.
Firstly, the Super Genesis Festival will be available in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis starting December 6. This campaign celebrates the game’s 2.5 anniversary with new Scratch Tickets, additional bonuses, and a catch-up campaign for new and returning players. Several more campaigns will release after December 27, so players should check in-game notices for more details.
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis December 2023 Updates
Alongside the Super Genesis Festival on December 6, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will introduce Chapter 6 Part 4 of the main story. Aina is working hard as an ARKS instructor, but players must help her become better at teaching rookies ARKS. Meanwhile, Manon seems a bit off while working for the Recon Team.
The December 6 update will also introduce a new enhancement system called Tech Arts Customization, which allows players to apply one of three additional effects to Photon Arts and Techniques. To coincide with this new feature, the Bouncer class gets a major balance update, and all weapons and armor may be enhanced up to level 80.
Enemy levels have been increased in Leciel Exploration with new Ruinus boss enemies to defeat, such as Ruine Ringahda and Ruine Angel. Moreover, new features will be added to the Creative Space/Alliance Space. The new European style for Build Parts will be available, and Build Parts will now project their shapes onto walls and the ground before placement. A number of additional quality-of-life features will be added, so be sure to check in-game notices for all those details.
The Joyful Holly-Days AC Scratch Ticket will be available on December 6 as well. This Scratch Ticket includes various Christmas-themed cosmetics for ARKS operatives to wear in the field.
December 13 Update
The December 2023 round of Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis updates continue on December 13. A new high-difficulty quest will challenge players as they face off against the Malignant Dark Falz Aegis. Complete the quest and its associated tasks to earn enticing rewards.
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis Mission Pass Season 27 will also be introduced on December 13. Progress this Mission Pass to earn accessories inspired by the original Phantasy Star Online 2 and new Build Parts. Additionally, the Motion Revival and Rewind Collection Dec ’23 Scratch Tickets will be available featuring fan-favorite gear pieces from the past.
New Genesis Christmas Festivities Begin on December 20
Christmas finally comes to Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis on December 20 with a new update. Central City and Retem City will be decorated for the occasion, and Reindeer Rappies and Saint Emperappies will roam the world. Xitre will don a Christmas outfit will giving players access to her Seasonal Points Exchange Shop. Obtain various items by completing limited-time missions and tasks. These rewards include the Variocool series of 9-star Rarity weapons.
The mysterious old man called Benefan will appear with a new event. Complete various trials to earn gifts, and defeat Dread Enemies with special task markers to form a Rappy Spot. King Captan will also make his debut, so there’s plenty of rewards and joy to come. Players may also receive new avatar items and rewards from the new Reward Box after earning sufficient medals.
The Black Lagoon collaboration event will also begin on December 20 with limited-time login bonuses with exclusive Build Parts. The Black Lagoon Style AC Scratch Ticket will be live with Revy, Roberta, Hansel, and Gretel avatar items, weapon camos, and additional cosmetics and accessories.
Into the New Year
On December 27, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis players may prepare for New Year’s Day by drawing from the New Year’s Charm AC Scratch Ticket. More Super Genesis Festival campaigns will be active starting December 27 as well. In 2024, a new collaboration event will be held with The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon’s Judgment.
