    OMORI Manga Officially Announced by Kodansha

    Kodansha has officially announced that a manga based on the hit RPG, OMORI, is in-development. It will be published in Monthly Afternoon. A release date is currently unknown. 

    OMORI is an RPG inspired by the likes of EarthboundYume Nikki, and Off. It first launched on December 25, 2020 for Mac and PC via Windows. The Japanese release would follow up one year later on December 19, 2021. OMORI would finally come to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One in 2022, marking the game’s console debut. To date, the game has sold over one million copies and garnered acclaim from fans and critics alike. 

    OMORI Manga Details

    Recently, manga publishing company Kodansha officially announced that a manga based on OMORI is in-development. Little information about the manga is known, except for the fact that Nui Konoito will be illustrating the series in Monthly Afternoon. Kodansha will likely reveal more details soon, including an exact release date for the first chapter of the manga series.

    OMORI‘s gameplay takes elements from older RPGs such as Earthbound and combines it with the ambience of a game like Yume Nikki. For those hoping to give the game a try, it is available now for $29.99 on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac. Lastly, the official manga adaptation will be released sometime in the future.
