SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio revealed new details for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth including the battle system, various exclusive jobs, and the job change system. Players may experience some of the game’s features in the Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Special Trial Version, which is available with Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
After the events of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Kazuma Kiryu heads to Hawaii on a new mission. Ichiban Kasuga also heads to Hawaii to search for his mother, Akane. The two series protagonists run into each other after trouble ensues.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Battle System
The Live Command RPG battle system has been greatly improved in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Characters may now move in a certain range during battles, allowing players to easily pull off combo attacks and use surrounding items to deal extra damage. Movement is vital toward targeting an enemy’s weakness. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth also has new area-of-effect attacks, allowing players to attack clusters of enemies with additional damage.
RGG Studio made changes to knockback attacks, letting players knock enemies into walls and other objects for more damage. Ichiban and the party may slam enemies into burning objects and explosives as well. What’s more, knockback attacks can make enemies collide with each other.
During battle, nearby allies with a strong connection may execute powerful combo attacks. Moreover, Perfect Attacks have been enhanced in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. By pressing the correct button when prompted, a Perfect Attack will deal extra blows or change the direction of the attack to damage multiple enemies.
While encountering enemies far weaker than the party, players may choose the Smackdown option to end the battle and quickly earn money and items. However, choosing the option will result in less experience.
Job Change System
Several new jobs have been added in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, allowing players to experiment with several job combinations in their party. Kazuma Kiryu’s job, Dragon of Dojima, includes three distinct fighting styles and an Action Mode that only he can use.
- Brawler – The Brawler style which allows Kiryu to pummel enemies and unleash Heat Actions.
- Rush – The Rush style which enables Kiryu to perform multiple rapid attacks and dart across a wide area.
- Beast/Sledgehammer – The Beast/Sledgehammer style which allows Kiryu to grab and fling enemies and objects around.
By entering Dragon’s Resurgence, Kiryu may move, punch, and kick using action buttons for a short duration. This Action Mode allows players to experience traditional action gameplay last experienced in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
