    Every Game Shown at the November 2023 Nintendo Indie World Showcase

    The Nintendo Switch has (indie) games!

    On November 14, Nintendo officially held a new Indie World Showcase. The event showed off a variety of different games including Shantae AdvanceOuter Wilds, and more. Here’s an overview of every game shown off during the November 2023 Indie World Showcase. 

    Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution

    Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution

    Shantae Advance is a port of the unreleased Shantae game for the Game Boy Advance. The game takes place between the events of 2002’s original Shantae and 2010’s Shantae: Risky’s Revenge. The titular protagonist must harness new technology and the knowledge of the Relic Hunters to stop Risky Boots and protect Sequin Land.

    The game will also come to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam alongside Nintendo Switch and Game Boy Advance. Additionally, a physical version will also be available. The game will release in 2024 and is currently available to wishlist on the Nintendo eShop. Check out the trailer for the game below:

    Core Keeper

    Core Keeper, developed by Pugstorm and Fireshine Games, allows players to explore a vast sandbox where up to eight players can work together in online multiplayer. The game gives you the option to either take it slow and gather resources or “dive into the action” by battling bosses and other enemy NPCs. The game will be available on the Nintendo Switch in 2024. It is available on the eShop to wishlist. Check out the trailer below:

    On Your Tail

    On Your Tail

    On Your Tail, from Memorable Games and Humble Games, follows young detective Diana as she explores the charming seaside village of Borgo Marina in a new narrative life sim. The game will allow you to solve mysteries, enjoy a personal seaside vacation, hit the beach, hang out with friends, play games in the arcade, fish and more. The game will release as a timed console exclusive in 2024. It is on the eShop to wishlist. Check out the trailer below:

    Howl

    Howl

    Howl, from Mi’pu’mi Games and astragon Entertainment, takes players through a fairytale world is ravaged by the Howl, a sinister plague spread through sound alone. Only a deaf prophet can find the cure and bring peace back to the realm. The game features turn-based combat where players must fight with both their weapons and their wits to progress in this turn-based, tactical folktale illustrated in a beautiful “living ink” art style. The game is available now on the Nintendo Switch. A demo is also available. Check out the trailer below:

    The Star Named EOS

    The Star Named EOS

    The Star Named EOS, from PLAYISM and Silver Lining Studio, will release in 2024 for both PC and the Nintendo Switch. The developers first announced the game a few months ago. It is a puzzle adventure game with a strong emphasis on story. The game utilizes “panorama technology” to create beautiful landscapes and foster an immersive experience.

    It will also force you to take photographs and solve puzzles. Both elements will encourage the player to take stock of their surroundings in order to appreciate the narrative. As you do, you will unravel the main protagonist’s past and learn about their family’s mystery. The game is available to wishlist now on the eShop. Check out the trailer below:

    Backpack Hero (November 2023 Indie World)

    Backpack Hero, from Jaspel and Different Tales, is a deck-building roguelike “with a twist.” The game features a backpack organization mechanic that make cards more or less effective depending on where you put them. Five backpack heroes are playable, each with unique powers, mechanics and items. The game is available now on the Nintendo Switch. Check out the trailer below:

    Blade Chimera

    Blade Chimera

    Blade Chimera, from Team Ladybug/WSS playground and PLAYISM, is a 2D action pixel art game. The game allows you to wield the powerful Lumina Sword, a demon transformed into a deadly weapon. This blade not only cuts down foes but can also interfere with time itself – restoring once-destroyed stairs, bridges and platforms to reach new areas. The game will release in 2024 on the Nintendo Switch as a timed console exclusive. Check out the trailer below:

    A Highland Song

    A Highland Song

    A Highland Song, from Inkle, is a 2.5D platformer with rhythm-action elements. The game features a time limit as you traverse the Scottish Highlands as fast as possible, taking care to navigate rain, storms, and snow attempting to slow you down. The game will launch on December 5 on the Nintendo Switch. Pre-Orders are available now. Check out the trailer below:

    Moonstone Island

    Moonstone Island

    Moonstone Island, from Studio Supersoft and Raw Fury, is a creature-collecting, dungeon-crawling, deck-building life sim. It features 100 procedurally generated islands in the sky to explore with the goal of becoming a world-renowned alchemist. The game features several sandbox options that allow for a wide variety of tasks to be done in a beautiful environment. It will release in Spring 2024 on the Nintendo Switch as a timed exclusive.     Double Trick: Double Blind

    Double Trick: Double Blind

    Double Trick: Double Blind, from Misty Mountain Studio and Neon Doctrine, is a non-linear detective visual novel. The game is set in “Morgan’s Traveling Circus”, as you attempt to find out why star magician Hattie has gone missing. With only a limited number of actions, they must carefully decide which leads to pursue, looking out for contradictions in the evidence. The game will release as a timed exclusive on the Nintendo Switch in 2024. A demo is available now. Check out the trailer below:

    Outer Wilds: Archaeology Edition

    Outer Wilds: Archaeology Edition

    The Outer Wilds: Archaeology Edition is the long-anticipated Nintendo Switch port of Annapurna and Mobius Digital’s space exploration masterpiece. The game requires you to explore the stars in a ever-changing universe with many twists and turns. The game is available now on all consoles, with the Nintendo Switch port releasing on December 7. A physical edition is also in development. Check out the trailer below:

    November 2023 Nintendo Indie World Showcase Sizzle Reel

    Braid: Anniversary Edition

    The showcase ended with an overview of more indie games that will be releasing in the future. Here’s all the games revealed during the sizzle reel via the official press release:

    • Planet of Lana, a cinematic puzzle-adventure framed by an epic sci-fi saga that stretches across centuries and galaxies, launching on Nintendo Switch in spring 2024.
    • Enjoy the Diner, a mysterious narrative adventure with point-and-click elements, available on Nintendo Switch later today!
    • The Gecko Gods, a relaxed puzzle-platformer starring a tiny gecko who must explore a set of mysterious islands and temples on a mission to save its friends, launching on Nintendo Switch in spring 2024.
    • Passpartout 2: The Lost Artista painting adventure in which you’re invited to explore the charming town of Phénix while creating and selling works of art, available on Nintendo Switch later today!
    • Braid: Anniversary Edition, a remaster of the acclaimed puzzle-platformer, with updated graphics and sound, plus newly added developer commentary, launching for Nintendo Switch on April 30, 2024.
    • Urban Myth Dissolution Center, a captivating mystery game in which you’re tasked with investigating curses, haunted houses and other urban myths, coming to Nintendo Switch in 2024.
    • Heavenly Bodies, a delightfully challenging physics-based space puzzler that asks you to complete a series of seemingly simple tasks aboard a 1970s space station, arriving to Nintendo Switch in February 2024.
