Dragami Games company president Yoshimi Yasuda reveals that the Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP development team is considering chainsaw speed increases as a new game element. This feature would allow players to attack faster with consecutive hits in the upcoming remaster.

Despite being announced as Lollipop Chainsaw Remake in July 2022, Dragami Games ultimately determined that the game would be best developed as a remaster. Fan requests were factored into this decision, but the development team is still working to introduce major gameplay improvements. For example, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will have improved input timing for cheerleading and chainsaw attacks.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Chainsaw Improvements

Alongside improved input timing, Yasuda confirms that the Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP development team is considering chainsaw speed increases. This will allow Juliet to attack faster with her chainsaw with “level increases with consecutive hits and coin earned system.” However, this feature is only under consideration, so it’s possible that this particular game element may be omitted from the final release.

Moreover, Juliet will have original costumes in Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP since “it’s difficult to play with copyrighted costumes.” This likely means that the studio is unable to feature copyright costumes from the original Lollipop Chainsaw, so new original costumes are being developed for the remaster.

Lastly, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is currently in development with a planned release for summer 2024. Here’s an overview of the original Lollipop Chainsaw game from the Xbox 360 Marketplace

Bursting with sex, blood, and rock ‘n’ roll, Lollipop Chainsaw is the ‘un-deadly’ story of a sweet and killer zombie hunter and her quest to uncover the root of a colossal zombie outbreak. With her wickedly awesome chainsaw in hand, Juliet slices, dices and splits her way through hordes of the undead, but soon realizes the horde is only the opening act to a festival of zombie rock lords determined to kill the chainsaw wielding cheerleader.
