PlayStation Reveals New PS5 Slim Models

    Slimmer, quieter design.

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that new PS5 slim models will be released this November at select retailers and PlayStation Direct. The new slim models will include a modular disc drive, increased storage (now 1 TB), and reduced volume while retaining the exact same CPU, GPU, and system memory specs.

According to Sony, the new PS5 slim models have been reduced in volume by over 30%, and weight has been decreased by 18% and 24% for both models compared to the original PS5. The slim consoles include four separate cover panels with the top panels having a glossy finish instead of the matte finish. Since the disc drive is modular, players who purchase the slim PS5 Digital Edition may add an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive later for $79.99.

    PlayStation 5 Slim Pricing

The PS5 slim models will be sold for $499.99 (Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive included) and $449.99 (Digital Edition). A horizonal stand is included, but fans may purchase a new vertical stand that’s compatible with all PS5 models for $29.99.
