    Later this week, New York Comic Con 2023 is set to kick off. An annual convention that focuses on comics, the first event was initially held in 2006. Over the years, the event has expanded its focus to include movies, video games, anime, and manga. The 2023 iteration will start on October 12 and last until October 15. Here are some of the biggest video game and anime panels you won’t want to miss during New York Comic Con 2023.

    On October 12, the Marvel booth will reveal several costumes that will be included in Spider-Man 2. The long-anticipated follow-up to Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, will release on October 20.

    Several costumes have already been revealed for the upcoming game, such as Miles Morales’ 10th Anniversary costume and the Sam Raimi black suit Spider-Man. The reveal will last from 4:30 to 4:45 EDT.

    Meet the Cast of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth During New York Comic Con 2023

    On October 14, a panel dedicated to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s cast will last from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM EDT. Hosted by Matt Mercer, fans will hear stories and gain insight about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth from the English voice cast. The panel will also be streamed on Square’s YouTube and Twitch channels.

    Panelists include Cody Christian (Cloud Strife), John Eric Bentley (Barret Wallace), Britt Baron (Tifa Lockhart), Max Mittelman (Red XIII), and Suzie Yeung (Yuffie Kisaragi). Additionally, Square Enix has teased that some surprise guests from Japan will be present during the event. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will release on February 29, exclusively for the PlayStation 5.

    On October 12, a panel dedicated to the Dragon Ball franchise will last from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM EDT. The panel will showcase the latest news about the Dragon Ball franchise, including “new developments.” Further, a “mysterious new teaser” will be shown during the panel. Special guests will also appear on the panel.

    The next major entry in the Dragon Ball franchise will be the upcoming Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi game. Little details about the game have been revealed at the time of writing. That said, it is highly likely that more news will be announced towards the end of the year.

    Digimon Adventure: Past and Future

    On October 13, a conference focused on Digimon Adventure will last from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM EDT. According to NYCC’s official website, the panel will include a “Q&A with the producer of the original first two seasons of Digimon Adventure followed by a special look at the upcoming new film, ‘Digimon Adventure 02 THE BEGINNING‘.”

    Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning will release in Japan on October 27. The movie will feature Daisuke Motomiya and friends from the original Digimon Adventure 02 anime. Released in 2000, the anime contrasted the prior Digimon series by introducing a new cast of characters separate from Tai and Agumon. The upcoming movie will continue the story of Daisuke and his many allies.

    Scott Pilgrim Takes Off First Clip Revealed

    The last notable panel will start on October 14 and last from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM EDT. The conference will focus on the upcoming anime Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. The adaptation of the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel and movie will premiere exclusively on Netflix on November 17.

    The panel will include a Q&A with Byran Lee O’Malley, the original creator of the Scott Pilgrim franchise, BenDavid Grabinski, one of the directors of the upcoming anime, and Edgar Wright, the director of the 2010 Scott Pilgrim film. Additionally, the event will include an “exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming anime series.” Stay tuned for more details on October 14.
