The Blue Exorcist manga will be going on a one-month hiatus as author Kazue Katō recovers from COVID-19. The manga is expected to return in the December 2023 issue of Jump SQ, and Katō’s planned autograph signing has also been delayed.
Kazue Katō launched the Blue Exorcist manga in 2009 in Jump SQ. The series went on hiatus from July 2021 to May 2022 and January 2023 to May 2023. Unfortunately, 2023 brings another hiatus for Blue Exorcist.
Blue Exorcist on Hiatus
The official Twitter account for Kazue Katō shared a message for fans, confirming that the Blue Exorcist manga will be on hiatus for a month. Fans can expect a new Blue Exorcist chapter to arrive in the Shueisha’s December 2023 Jump SQ magazine, which releases in November. Moreover, Katō also postponed a planned autograph signing until January 2024 as he recovers from COVID-19.
Chapter 144 is the latest chapter of Blue Exorcist, and its available to read for free at VIZ Media in English. The website notes that Blue Exorcist chapter 145 will release on November 3. Just a few months later, the Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga anime will premiere in January 2024. This upcoming anime will adapt volumes 10-15 of the manga series.
