COSEN and Talesshop confirms that the official English release of romance visual novel The Fox Awaits Me HANA for Nintendo Switch has been canceled in North America and Europe. The Fox Awaits Me HANA will still release in Japan and Asia with English support for fans who want to import the title.
Originally, The Fox Awaits Me HANA was planned to release on November 2 worldwide, including North America and Europe. The western release would have parity with the other versions, but complications seemingly arose while preparing the title.
The Fox Awaits Me HANA No Longer Releasing in the West
According to COSEN’s official X (Twitter) account, The Fox Awaits Me HANA for Nintendo Switch will no longer release in North America and Europe. COSEN does not know why this decision was made and did not clarify whether the platform holder or ratings board prevented the release. If COSEN and Talesshop were to release the game in the west, changes to content in the North American and European versions would need to be made.
“Since the exact cause has not been communicated, we interviewed the staff responsible for translating this title from Japanese to English to see if there were any issues due to cultural differences,” COSEN said on its official account. “As a result, there are several possible causes. If you are developing for other platforms, you will need to take this into consideration.”
Despite the lack of a North American and European release going forward, COSEN and Talesshop will release in the game in Japan and Asia with Japanese and Korean audio with English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options. The Japanese voice cast includes Miyazaki Tamako, Nozomi Nagumo, Risa Kayama, Kanna Nakamura, Kanako Nomura, Mao Amatsuka, Ryouta Yoshizaki, and Atsuko Oota.
Lastly, The Fox Awaits Me HANA launches on November 2 for Nintendo Switch in Japan and Asia.
