Bethesda has revealed the first update for Starfield and its patch notes. Additionally, they also detailed more information on the game’s mod support.
Starfield is the first new Bethesda franchise in almost twenty years. The game allows you to explore the far reaches of space, fight pirates, and build your own ship. Starfield is available now on the Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. It can also be downloaded through Xbox’s Game Pass service.
Starfield First Update, Patch Notes, and Mod Support Revealed
Bethesda released an official blog post via Steam revealing more information on the update. They first thank fans for all their support since the game was released. “We are absolutely blown away by the response and all you love about the game,” they say. Bethesda then goes on to detail the first hotfix coming to the game. It will include the following:
- Brightness and Contrast controls
- HDR Calibration Menu
- FOV Slider
- Nvidia DLSS Support (PC)
- 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor Support (PC)
- Eat button for food!
They also fully confirmed that Starfield‘s modding platform will be coming to consoles in the same vein as Fallout 4 and Skyrim. It will launch on the Xbox Series X|S early next year. At the end of the post, they revealed the full patch notes:
Update Version 1.7.29 – Fixes and Improvements
- Xbox Series X|S – Improved stability related to installations.
- Various stability and performance improvements to reduce crashes and improve framerate.
- All That Money Can Buy: Fixed an issue where player activity could result in a quest blocker.
- Into the Unknown: Fixed an issue that could prevent the quest from appearing after the game is completed.
- Shadows in Neon: Fixed an issue where player activity could result in a quest blocker.
