Capcom has revealed the first gameplay footage for the next DLC character set to release in Street Fighter 6, A.K.I. The new character will be added to Street Fighter 6 on September 27.
Capcom initially released Street Fighter 6 on June 2, 2023. The game features nineteen characters, including the first DLC addition, Rashid. More DLC characters will be released over the coming months.
A.K.I. is Coming to Street Fighter 6
Capcom has described A.K.I as the servant to F.A.N.G., the infamous master of poison in Street Fighter V. According to the PlayStation Blog, she is “under orders to dig into the remnants of Shadaloo.” Like Rashid and the other members of the roster, she will be a character that you can interact with and learn from in the single-player World Tour mode.
Her fighting style implements the poison of F.A.N.G. with a little bit of extra range that makes her a terrifying character at a distance. Based on her description, “once A.K.I. poisons an enemy, their vitality will slowly deplete as long as the effect remains. If A.K.I. gets hit, the poison will dissipate.
From a distance, she can use Serpent Lash, sending her nails flying forward like a chain, poisoning enemies she hits. The O.D. version of Serpent Lash hooks on to enemies, allowing A.K.I. to hop forward to close the distance. When she strikes an opponent who is already poisoned with moves like Serpent Lash, a Toxic Blossom triggers where the resulting explosion can open enemies up to follow-up attacks.”
Her super moves take advantage of her lethality as she spreads her talons out and pokes specific pressure points, destroying her opponent utterly. A.K.I will be available as part of the Season Pass on September 27. Players may also purchase her separately, however. Further, several themed cosmetic items will be available in the Battle Hub on September 1.
