NetherRealm Studios has revealed a new live-action trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 starring beloved actor Dave Bautista. This new trailer celebrates the history of the thirty-year-old franchise.
Mortal Kombat 1 is the first new entry in the series in almost five years. The game is set to release in September with new modes, a wide variety of unique characters, and brand-new ways to play. NetherRealm Studios will reveal more information on the upcoming release in the next few weeks.
Mortal Kombat 1 Live-Action Trailer
The recent trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 celebrates the franchise’s history. It features Dave Bautista rallying people under the call of “Mortal Kombat!” For fans of the series, the footage may seem familiar: it’s a reference to the infamous TV commercial for the very first Mortal Kombat. The original trailer features the first incarnation of the beloved Mortal Kombat theme song, which the new trailer pays tribute to.
NetherRealm Studios has referenced many pieces of Mortal Kombat history throughout the upcoming release, with this trailer being the culmination of thirty years of history. The end of the trailer also hinted at Shang Tsung, the bonus character available if you pre-order the game. The roster of Mortal Kombat 1 is as follows:

Additionally, the first Kombat Pack has been revealed. It includes Homelander from The Boys, Omni-Man from Invincible, Peacemaker from Peacemaker, and The Suicide Squad. The pack also includes returning Mortal Kombat characters: Ermac, Quan Chi, & Takeda. NetherRealm Studios will reveal more information on the last few characters over the coming weeks.

Lastly, Mortal Kombat 1 will release on September 10. The game will be available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
