Shoot ‘Em Up Radirgy 2 Launches December 7 in Japan

Beep Japan and developer RS34 announced vertical shoot ’em up Radirgy 2 releases on December 7 in Japan. The game will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

The Radirgy series began in 2005 with the original shoot ’em up arcade title in Japan. Radirgy would come to SEGA Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo GameCube in 2006, but a localized release would not come until the release of Ultimate Shooting Collection on Wii. Soon, fans will experience the first numbered sequel in the Radirgy series.

    Radirgy 2 Launching This December

The official Beep Japan Twitter account confirms the game will launch on December 7, and the tweet shows an image of the original Radirgy title for SEGA Dreamcast. According to BEEP Japan, Radirgy 2 pre-orders will open on August 24 in Japan. The first Radirgy game will also be included with purchases, and more details will be revealed at a later date.

The sequel was originally announced on September 8, 2022. A release date was not announced then, but Beep Japan exhibited the title at Tokyo Game Show 2022. Attendees could visit the Konami booth and become the first players to try out a public demo of Radirgy 2. A downloadable demo has not been announced, however.

Here’s an overview of the title via Beep Japan:

Radirgy is a vertical scrolling shoot ’em up game that first appeared as an arcade game title in 2005. With the catchphrase “toon pop radio wave shoot ’em up,” the game later appeared on a variety of home video game consoles and gained popularity.

Radirgy 2 is a new, greatly evolved the shoot ’em up game. This evolutionary version of the game features the catchphrase “radio wave shoot ’em up re-proposed.” The “Murasame,” the player’s own machine, evolves in various ways to help the player.

Lastly, Radirgy 2 launches on December 7 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in Japan. A worldwide release has not been announced.
