Kadokawa released a new trailer for the upcoming anime adaptation of the Gushing Over Magical Girls manga by author Akihiro Ononaka. The new trailer reveals the anime’s production staff and Japanese voice cast.
The Gushing Over Magical Girls manga entered serialization in Takeshobo’s Manga Life Storia magazine in 2019. Takeshobo ceasing publishing of the magazine, but the manga continued to release via the company’s Storia Dash website. The new anime series will debut in 2024 thanks to studio Asahi Production.
Gushing Over Magical Girls Staff and Cast Revealed
Fruits Basket (2019) director Tadato Suzuki returns to direct the new Gushing Over Magical Girls anime at Asahi Production. Suzuki is joined by co-director Atsushi Ootsuki and series script writer Noboru Kimura. Character designs are handled by Yasuka Ōtaki, and Satoshi Motoyama is the anime’s sound director. Moreover, Yasuharu Takanashi, Akinari Suzuki, and Johannes Nilsson serve as composers with Lantis in charge of music production.
The first members of the Gushing Over Magical Girls voice cast have been revealed in a new teaser trailer, too. Fūka Izumi will perform the role of Utena Hiiragi/Magia Baiser, a protagonist who loves magical girls and becomes a magical girl villain because of an unfortunate spell. Kaori Maeda will play the role of Haruka Hanabishi/Magia Magenta, Utena’s classmate and a Tres Magia magical girl. In addition, Misato Fukuen performs the role of Venalita, the mascot who places the spell on Utena.

Where to Watch the Anime
Gushing Over Magical Girls will premiere in 2024 across Japanese TV networks. A worldwide distributor and streaming platform for the new anime has not been announced just yet (i.e. Crunchyroll).
