Activision has announced that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III reveal event will be on August 17. They released a new trailer alongside it, commemorating the news.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III was officially revealed on August 7, 2023. Activision will release the game on most ninth-generation consoles on November 10, 2023.
The Return of Makarov
The latest trailer for Modern Warfare III reconfirms Makarov as the game’s main antagonist. He was the main villain for the original Modern Warfare games, released during the Xbox 360/PS3 era. The Russian terrorist set off a nuke in a war zone and orchestrated the infamous “No Russian” mission. It is unknown how much of the original story Activision will adapt.
Modern Warfare III will be a direct sequel to last year’s Modern Warfare II. That game is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Here’s the PlayStation Store description for Modern Warfare II:

Release Information
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will release on November 10. Activision has not yet confirmed what consoles it will be available on.
