    Virtual K-Pop Artist APOKI Reveals New Japanese Single With Candy Girls by Yoshitaka Amano

    LOTTE's WATERMELONBAR also makes an appearance.

    Virtual K-Pop artist APOKI released her first original Japanese single “Hold On” today. The popular artist also reveals her new album, SPACE, will release in fall 2023.

    APOKI is Korea’s first virtual K-pop artist and a leading artist worldwide with over five million followers across Korea, Japan, and the rest of the world. Her concept is “a rabbit-like being living somewhere in space,” and APOKI’s music videos convey that concept with real-world elements and brands. 

    APOKI Single Collaborates with Final Fantasy Illustrator Yoshitaka Amano and LOTTE

    “Hold On” by APOKI includes the appearance of LOTTE’s WATERMELONBAR, a highly popular summertime popsicle in both Japan and South Korea. The music video conveys a sense of excitement at the start of love is expressed through sweetness. Additionally, 3D versions of CANDY GIRLS by world-renowned Final Fantasy Yoshitaka Amano appear in APOKI’s new music video. Amano’s most recent gaming illustration includes the Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail key visual depicting the Tural region. APOKI and CANDY GIRLS will co-star in more opportunities in the near future.

    APOKI’s new single “Hold On” is now available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music, and deezer. Additionally, her official music video is also live on YouTube for all to enjoy. Chizzy Stephens, a major songwriter for American artists, produced the new song. Mayu Wakisaka, a talented songwriter collaborating with popular groups like TWICE and NiziU, wrote APOKI’s new hit.

    “As someone who loves Japan, it has been my dream to sing an original Japanese song someday, APOKI said. “When we were shooting the music video, I got asked what my favorite popsicle was, and I replied, ‘WATERMELONBAR’. Lucky for me, we got LOTTE’s support and WATERMELONBAR appears in this music video! The popsicle is cute and yummy, and I always want to eat it in the summertime. I learned for the first time that the WATERMELONBAR is loved for a long time in both Japan and South Korea. This summer, please dance and sing along to this music video, which I extremely love!”
