    Heaven Burns Red 4-Panel Manga Announced

    Celebrate the 1.5 anniversary with a new manga.

    Kadokawa announced a four-panel manga for Wright Flyer Studios and Key’s mobile RPG Heaven Burns Red will be released this fall. The new manga will launch nearly a year and a half after the game first launched in Japan for Android and iOS.

    Heaven Burns Red is the first game in nearly 13 years by Jun Maeda, the talented mind behind many renowned visual novels. His prior projects include CLANNAD, AIR, and Kanon. Maeda’s latest work will be adapted into a manga by Yū Tsurusaki soon. 

    Heaven Burns Red Enters the Manga World

    Kadokawa confirms that Jun Maeda’s Heaven Burns Red will be adapted into a four-panel manga by Yū Tsurusaki this fall. The manga will be available through The Kadokawa’s G’s Channel website and on the game’s official Twitter account. Moreover, the Heaven Burns Red Comic Anthology will release on September 27. The comic anthology includes a cover illustration by P Goto and stories from eight manga authors, including Juri Misaki and Sakaki Yoshioka. To celebrate the impending release, Kadokawa plans to host a special program live stream on August 31 at 8:00 p.m. JST via G’s Channel website.

    Heaven Burns Red tells the story of humanity’s struggle against a mysterious life forms known as “Cancers”. Humanity’s weapons are ineffective against Cancers, and the enemies eventually drive them to the brink of extinction. Their last hope is placed in Seraph, newly developed weapons that a group of girls may use to defeat Cancers in battle. Players control protagonist Ruka Kayamori as she leads a Seraph Corps squad into battle against Cancers.

    The March 2, 2023 Famitsu issue celebrated the first anniversary of Heaven Burns Red. The issue highlighted the collaboration between Heaven Burns Red and the popular anime, Angel Beats!. Fans who purchased the March 2 issue received a special Angel Beats! collaboration visual B3 poster. 

    Lastly, Heaven Burns Red is available for Android and iOS in Japan. The game first launched on February 10, 2022.
