Ratatan is Coming to Consoles and PC

Quickly becoming one of the most successful Kickstarters of all time.

Ratata Arts announced Ratatan is coming to consoles and PC after meeting one of its biggest stretch goals. Ratatan will be coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and additional stretch goals will be added.

Ratatan’s Kickstarter campaign launched on July 31 and quickly met its first goal for a PC version. In fact, the PC version was funded in just an hour, and one of the most important Ratatan stretch goals have been met.

Ratatan for PC and Consoles Confimed

According to Ratata Arts, one of the initial goals for Ratatan was availability on a variety of platforms. Thus far, over $700,000 has been funded by backers for Ratatan. The current funding far exceeds the online mode stretch goal and console stretch goal, which were set at $347,000 and $523,700 respectively. More stretch goals will be announced soon.

“Speaking of stretch goals, the next one ahead of us is the all important CONSOLE stretch goal,” Ratata Arts said in a Kickstarter update. “Clearing this milestone allows us to bring Ratatan to current consoles: Microsoft Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch! That is in addition to the initial goal that means Ratatan will be widely available on a variety of platforms!”

Ratatan quickly met its console stretch goal after the Kickstarter update was posted, ensuring that Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S versions are coming. The update also notes that a PlayStation 4 is possible. However, development will continue for at least two more years with a potential April 2025 release window. As a result, a PlayStation 4 version seems unlikely at that point. Further, Ratata Arts states that it may need to revisit what platforms are available once development progresses further.

Finally, Red Art Games will distribute physical editions of Ratatan for consoles. The partner will also produce merchandise and goods for backers, so those who support Ratatan can expect high quality products.
