Mortal Kombat 1 Trailer Reveals Geras

    The keeper of time.

NetherRealm Studios have officially revealed Geras in Mortal Kombat 1. The announcement comes alongside a new trailer highlighting the “Keepers of Time.”

Mortal Kombat 1 is the newest entry in the beloved Mortal Kombat franchise. It’s been almost ten years since the release of MK11. Mortal Kombat 1 is shaping into a complete reinvention of the series formula.

    Geras, The Keeper of Time

NetherRealm Studios first introduced Geras in Mortal Kombat 11. He was designed to be a character capable of manipulating time however he saw fit. His powerful abilities resulted in a complicated yet exciting play style. His move set looks faithful to his first incarnation, with some new additions here and there. He can grab his opponent and slam them into an hourglass, freeze them in time, and obliterate them with the power of sandstorms.

The trailer also highlights Liu Kang, the main protagonist of the series and the newly christened God of Fire. Fans may see him and Geras working together to keep balance in the freshly formed Mortal Kombat 1 timeline. Both characters want to be the most potent players in Mortal Kombat 1, but will they be enough to stop Shang Tsung? Only time will tell.

So far, sixteen characters have been announced in Mortal Kombat 1. These include:

    • Johnny Cage
    • Liu Kang
    • Raiden
    • Kung Lao
    • Scorpion
    • Sub Zero
    • Smoke
    • Rain
    • Kenshi
    • Mileena
    • Kitana
    • Li Mei
    • Tanya
    • Baraka
    • and Geras

NetherRealm Studios has also announced that Homelander, Omni-Man, Takeda, Ermac, Peacemaker, and Quan Chi will be added as DLC. While it’s currently unknown when the following major Mortal Kombat announcement will be, expect to see more additions to the roster revealed in the next few weeks.
