The One Piece anime is heading toward the highly anticipated reveal of Luffy Gear 5 in just a couple of episodes. One Piece Episode 1070 arrives soon after the One Piece Day ’23 event and a week-long break from its ordinary TV schedule
In the One Piece anime, Luffy is seemingly defeated after a hard-fought battle against Kaido in the Wano arc. However, the Straw Hat Pirate is gearing up to Gear 5, which is expected to be revealed in Episode 1071. Episode 1070 will continue the build up toward this major Gear 5 reveal for Luffy.
One Piece Episode 1070 Release Date
One Piece Episode 1070 will air on Sunday, July 30 at 9:30 a.m. JST across Japanese broadcasting networks. Originally, the episode was going to air on Sunday, July 22 in Japan, but broadcasting and production delays have pushed its premiere by exactly one week. Crunchyroll is simulcasting the popular One Piece anime series with English subs, so fans can expect Episode 1070 to arrive at 10:00 p.m. EDT on July 29.

Episode 1070 Preview
The battle between Luffy and Kaido seemingly came to an end with the One Piece hero being distracted by Guernica. This distraction allowed Kaido to land a devastating shot on Luffy, but the tyrant is angry due to missing out on a completely fair fight. Kaido will likely take out his anger on Guernica as shown in the One Piece Episode 1070 preview at the end of Episode 1069. Luffy is down for the count, but he may finally emerge when the time is right and unleash his Gear 5 form soon. Episode 1070 may not have the full Gear 5 reveal, but this episode won’t be one to miss.
