After much anticipation, Netflix have announced the Castlevania: Nocturne animated series will premiere on September 28, 2023. A new trailer will release imminently to showcase Richter Belmont and the story being told in the new Netflix series.
Castlevania: Nocturne is the sequel series to the Netflix show titled Castlevania. Based on the beloved gaming franchise, Nocturne focuses on Richter Belmont, another member of the monster-slaying Belmont family. For fans of both Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Castlevania: Blood of Rondo, this is the series for you.
Castlevania Nocturne Premieres September 28
Netflix originally announced Castlevania Nocturne during Netflix Geeked Week in 2022.
Set years after the events of the Castlevania Netflix series, Richter takes up the mantle of vampire hunter. The series’ story centers around the events of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. The official description of the series is as follows:
“In the thick of the French Revolution, members of the so-called lower classes are rising up to fight inequality: “It’s the natural order for them to milk us dry with impossible rents and unpayable taxes,” Maria (Davies), a young leader, laments. Meanwhile, Richter Belmont (Bluemel) senses a far grimmer and greater danger. He’s picked up his family’s long-held tradition of vampire hunting, a vocation that goes back almost as long as a vampiric life span (in other words, forever).
But he’s never seen anything quite like what he’s witnessing now — could the drastic uptick in vampire activity have something to do with the death of his mother? And what’s up with this rumored news of a supposed vampire messiah?” Expect to hear more information about the story closer to the show’s release.
