    Summer Game Fest 2023 is finally coming to an end. In just one month, Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, and more have all showcased their lineup for 2023 and beyond. However, with so much information coming out simultaneously, it may be hard for people to keep track of some of the highlights. So here’s an overview of some of the best announcements during Summer Game Fest.

    Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

    After years of rumors, a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake has finally been announced. Titled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, it is set to release on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The original voice cast will return, the graphics will be completely overhauled, and it will be a “faithful recreation of the original story and game design.” No release window is currently known, but fans and newcomers alike can look forward to one of the most iconic Metal Gear games finally being rejuvenated for a modern console.

    Spider-Man 2 Release Date

    Initially announced in 2021, Spider-Man 2 is finally upon us. A recent gameplay trailer confirmed more specific details about the upcoming release. Both Miles and Peter will be playable, and players will be able to access more New York areas, such as Brooklyn and Queens. Plus, Peter will have access to the iconic symbiote suit, and both Miles and Peter can glide around the city in the beloved web-wings. Spider-Man 2 will release on October 20, 2023, exclusively on the PlayStation 5. Fans can expect to hear more news about the game in the next few months before its release.

    Super Mario Bros. Wonder

    For the first time in more than ten years, a new 2D Mario will finally release. Titled Super Mario Bros. Wonder, it’ll feature a brand new world with a completely different art style. Wonder will have a four-player co-op, as well as six playable characters. One of the six characters is Daisy, who will be playable for the first time in mainline Mario history. With brand-new power-ups and mechanics, Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be an exciting new experience in the Mario franchise.

    Super Mario RPG Remake Key Art

    Super Mario Bros. Wonder won’t be the only new Mario game released this year. After almost thirty years of waiting, Super Mario RPG, the cult-classic SNES JRPG developed by Square Soft and Nintendo, will finally be remade for modern consoles. The remake will feature new graphics and new music arrangements courtesy of the original composer, Yoko Shimomura. Other than that, the upcoming release will be a faithful remake of one of the most beloved JRPGs in the Mario franchise. For fans of the original and those who’ve never had a chance to experience it, the Super Mario RPG Remake is the perfect package.

    Another of the best announcements from the Xbox conference was Persona 3 Reload. A remake of the fan-favorite Persona 3, the remake will rebuild the game’s graphics and gameplay to match modern standards. While the game won’t feature the same expansions that Persona 3 FES and Portable did, for newcomers to the franchise wanting to experience Persona 3, this will be the game for you. Persona 3 Reload will release in 2024 on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

    Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

    Finally, after a year of waiting, more news about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been revealed. From a new trailer to more details about how the gameplay and open world will function, Rebirth is set to be an exciting new entry in the Final Fantasy VII series. The game will feature returning locations, iconic characters like Bugenhagen and Elena, and brand-new playable characters. Players can also expect to be drawn in by the mysterious story of the Remake trilogy and what new elements will be added to the narrative. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released in 2024 on the PlayStation 5 and features two discs.
