Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Team Is “Working on Nailing Down a Release Date”

    Reunion is near.

The official Final Fantasy VII Twitter released a statement today from Final Fantasy Brand Manager and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Producer Yoshinori Kitase. It asks a simple question about the current state of development of Rebirth. The producer answers, mentioning the Rebirth release date. Kitase’s statement can be seen below.

Development is progressing smoothly and according to plan. We are currently working on nailing down a release date for the game.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Team Working on Release Date

This is the first official update on the game since its initial reveal last June. The game’s initial trailer featured Cloud and Sephiroth walking through Nibelheim and teases of future events that appeared in Final Fantasy VII Remake

Fans have been eagerly awaiting a new Final Fantasy VII Rebirth trailer that would hopefully reveal the release date, and with this message, it seems that it could be closer than some think. While it’s not likely we’ll see Rebirth before the highly-anticipated Final Fantasy XVI releases, it is plausible we will see the title before September’s Tokyo Game Show.

Rebirth Development Is Going “According to Plan”

The fact that development is going according to plan means that Rebirth should be on target for its Winter 2023 release slot. This could be any time from November to March of 2024, with the latter being more likely.

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH is the second story in the FINAL FANTASY VII remake series which tells the story of the iconic fantasy game that redefined the RPG genre, in three distinct games. At launch, FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE was celebrated by players and critics alike, selling over five million copies worldwide. FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH is slated to launch next Winter for PS5.

We cannot wait to see more of Rebirth and just what exactly awaits Cloud and the rest of the party in the title. For all the latest on Final Fantasy, keep it here at Final Weapon!
