Bandai Namco Entertainment announced mobile Gunpla game Gundam Breaker Mobile is shutting down on June 5, 2023. Gundam fans will be unable to purchase items and in-game currency within a month’s time.

Impending Shutdown

A notice is available on the official website for Gundam Breaker Mobile, confirming the game’s end of service date for June 5. Bandai Namco did not give a specific reason for the game’s shutdown, but the company expresses its gratitude for those who supported the Gundam title since launch on July 30, 2019. All in-game purchases will be disabled on May 8, and players may use any remaining currency up until the servers go offline on June 5.

As the name suggests, Gundam Breaker Mobile is the mobage version of Gundam Breaker, a PlayStation 3 and PS Vita title where Gunpla units battle parts to create the ultimate Gunpla. Gundam Breaker’s sequel, New Gundam Breaker, would come to PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. Player reception of New Gundam Breaker was mixed at best, and the mobile version may have received similar scrutiny over the years (Thanks, Siliconera).

Immediate Future for Gundam

A Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 Steam network test is ongoing until April 10 at 1:00 a.m. PDT. The network test allows PC gamers to try out a variety of modes such as Rating Match, Quick Match, Custom Match, and Free Practice Mode before the full launch of free-to-play game. Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 is currently available now for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Gundam fans may also look forward to the premiere of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury season 2 on Sunday, April 9. The second season will air weekly on TBS and MBS networks in Japan and the Crunchyroll streaming service around the world. The first season of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury is available to stream now on Crunchyroll.

Lastly, Gundam Breaker Mobile is available now for Android and iOS until June 5, 2023.
