Bandai Namco Entertainment announced mobile Gunpla game Gundam Breaker Mobile is shutting down on June 5, 2023. Gundam fans will be unable to purchase items and in-game currency within a month’s time.
Impending Shutdown
A notice is available on the official website for Gundam Breaker Mobile, confirming the game’s end of service date for June 5. Bandai Namco did not give a specific reason for the game’s shutdown, but the company expresses its gratitude for those who supported the Gundam title since launch on July 30, 2019. All in-game purchases will be disabled on May 8, and players may use any remaining currency up until the servers go offline on June 5.
As the name suggests, Gundam Breaker Mobile is the mobage version of Gundam Breaker, a PlayStation 3 and PS Vita title where Gunpla units battle parts to create the ultimate Gunpla. Gundam Breaker’s sequel, New Gundam Breaker, would come to PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. Player reception of New Gundam Breaker was mixed at best, and the mobile version may have received similar scrutiny over the years (Thanks, Siliconera).
