Metroid Fusion is now the first game to be added to the Game Boy Advance library since GBA games became available on the Switch’s online service back in February. Nintendo announced that the game would be playable on March 8, 2023. So if you haven’t already downloaded it and love Metroid, now is an as good time as ever to hop back into the Varia suit and kick some parasite butt.
Metroid Fusion’s Plot
The game starts with Samus Aran traveling to a research station that seems to be suffering from an outbreak of X parasites. Samus, who nearly died to X, finds that it’s her mission to eradicate them. However, unfortunately for her, parasite X affected pieces of her armor. And has created its own SA-X, a robust copy of Samus herself that hunts the player throughout the game.
As they travel through the station, players will retrieve a variety of Samus’s well-known abilities. Such as the Screw Attack and Wave Beam, all the while attempting to survive against the SA-X. Perhaps this is your first time experiencing a Metroid side scroller. There is no better game to start with than Metroid Fusion.
