Sega Sammy published its third quarter financial results for fiscal year ending in March 2023, revealing strong sales data for the Sonic series. Sales data shows Sonic Frontiers is one of SEGA’s exceptional performers during the third quarter.
Sonic Frontiers Promotes Series Sales Growth

The Sonic series sold 4.12 million copies from October to December 2022, bringing the franchise’s fiscal year unit sales to 6.75 million copies sold. Over 2.9 million of the units sold during the third quarter were from Sonic Frontiers. The blue blur achieved this milestone in under two months since launch.
Over 1 million of the franchise’s sales came from previously released games such as Sonic Origins, Sonic Mania, and Sonic Colors Ultimate. Only one quarter remains for the fiscal year ending on March 2023, and the next set of financial results are expected in April.
Players can expect more Sonic Frontiers content throughout 2023. The game will receive three major updates featuring new playable characters, additional main story content, new challenges, and much more. SEGA plans to share more details about these updates at a later date.
SEGA’s Sonic Frontiers first launched on November 8, 2022 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S worldwide. A demo is currently available now for players interested in trying the game before making a purchase.
