Is Miles Morales Playable on Steam Deck?

With Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales set to release on Steam this week, many are wondering if the title will be playable on Steam Deck. Marvel’s Spider-Man was released this past August and was Deck playable, but there is uncertainty considering Miles Morales was cross-gen.

Is Miles Morales Playable on Steam Deck?

Fortunately for players, it has been confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is indeed playable on Steam Deck. In fact, it is confirmed to be Deck certified by Insomniac themselves. The team tweeted this out this morning confirming that the game has been Verified to run on Deck by Valve.

The game will require 75GB of storage space in order to play, so do keep that in mind. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was originally released on November 10th, 2020 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The game is a direct sequel to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man, this time focusing on Miles Morales as the title suggests. With a unique set of mechanics and gameplay features, Miles operates similarly but much different than Peter Parker. The game sets up Spider-Man 2, which is set to release sometime in 2023.

Steam Deck was also certified to work with Marvel’s Spider-Man earlier this year. Other PlayStation titles that have come over from Sony also tend to get the certification from Valve. God of War received this, as well as Horizon Zero Dawn. A PlayStation title seemingly coming soon is Housemarque’s Returnal, which has been leaked for PC with screenshots for quite some time. Returnal should have no problems running on Steam Deck, especially considering the handheld’s ability to cap its refresh rate.

Players should expect news on the next entry in the Spider-Man series relatively soon, considering the sequel is due out next year. Stay tuned to Final Weapon for the latest on Marvel’s Spider-Man!
