During Gamescom 2022, Everstone Games announced a new open-world action RPG set in the Ten Kingdoms period of Chinese history, Where Winds Meet.
Players embark on a journey as a mysterious swordsman navigating throughout China during the Northern Song Dynasty. Various decisions must be made by the swordsman to determine his role in the ongoing conflict. The open world is waiting to be explored on foot or horseback.
In the new action RPG, players may choose a side in the Ten Kingdoms war. Additionally, a number of specialized roles such as a doctor, merchant, or wanderer, may be chosen for the protagonist. Different playstyles will be available in Where Winds Meet such as sword fighting, hand-to-hand combat, Tai Chi, and Wuxia-style martial arts.
“Other than becoming a doctor, players can choose other occupations,” Everstone Games told IGN. “For example, they can become an orator who uses the power of words to convince NPCs to follow their advice; they can become an architect who builds all kinds of imaginative buildings; they can become a bodyguard who protects players or NPCs from assassins; or they can become a ferryman who takes passengers on a tour of the river.”
