Kemono Friends 3 PS4 version to end service

Shuts down only two months after launch.

Appirits announced the PlayStation 4 version of Kemono Friends 3 will end service after just two months following its launch in Japan.

The PlayStation 4 version has been undergoing maintenance since June 16, which means Kemono Friends 3 was playable for just 10 days after launch on June 6. Maintenance was active in attempts to fix an issue preventing login.

“While we have continued to deal with the problems that occurred on the operations side, we have determined that solving these problems would be extremely difficult and there is no realistic means for solving them,” Appirits said via the official game website. “As a result of the situation, we have concluded that it will be difficult to continue providing service for the PlayStation 4 version, and will sunset service for this platform.”

Players who purchased items in the PlayStation 4 version may receive a full refund through an official refund form. The refund form goes live at a later date.

Kemono Friends 3 first launched on September 25, 2019, for Android and iOS in Japan. The PC version launched roughly 6 months later on March 25, 2020. The PlayStation 4 version launched on June 6 and was backwards compatible on PlayStation 5.
