Aniplex revealed the cast, staff, and a new trailer for Sword Art Online Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night, the second film in the Sword Art Online Progressive series.
The second anime film features a returning cast from prior Sword Art Online works such as Haruka Tomatsu (Asuna) and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Kirito). Additionally, Japanese voice actors Kaede Hondo and Yusuke Kobayashi play as Liten and Morte respectively.
Many staff are returning from the previous Sword Art Online film such as A-1 Pictures director Ayako Konno and character designer Kento Toya. Action director Yasuyuki Kai and composer Yuki Kajiura also make their return for the second film. The official soundtrack by Kajiura goes on sale September 9, the day before the film premieres.

On November 6, a special Sword Art Online 10th anniversary will be held in Tokyo. Performers Eir Aoi, ASCA, and ReoNa will be at the event. All three performers have sung theme songs for the Sword Art Online series over the years. Furthermore, they will band together to perform the 10th anniversary theme “Fanfare of the Blue Sky” with FictionJunction.
