Street Fighter 6 features rollback netcode and cross-play

During Summer Game Fest Play Days, Capcom confirmed Street Fighter 6 will feature cross-play functionality and rollback netcode. Details regarding the supported platforms for cross-play and the specific implementation of rollback netcode (e.g. GGPO) in Street Fighter 6 were not shared.

Maximilian Dood and Tamoor Hussain confirmed the existence of cross-play and rollback netcode through Capcom’s developers at the Play Days event:

Street Fighter V previously featured cross-play on PlayStation 4 and PC, which were the only two platforms the game released on. However, the game was scruntinized in the subsequent years due to its lack of rollback netcode. Rollback netcode would become the standard for fighting games going forward such as Guilty Gear Strive and The King of Fighters XV.

Street Fighter 6 releases in 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
